Beta Testing (March 21st, 2006 - July 5th)

Following the large increase of members that happened during the Landslide, the Elders had to shut down the BBB Boards and Shoutbox because of spam. They realized that WW wasn't ready yet to handle so many members, and closed WW to the general public for a period of Beta Testing.
Around 500 active members were selected by the Elders, and received a mail asking them to participate in the Beta Testing. Those members had to be over 13 and sign an online agreement (or ask their parents to sign up if they were under 18) saying that they wouldn't reveal anything that went on WW during Beta.
The site shut down for some months, during which only Beta users could log in and test the new features. Those included the first shops (Violet's Salon and later Civvies), the Bank, the Hoosegow and Clubs.
At the end of Beta, the testers received a Voucher that could be exchanged with rewards at the bank. The rewards were WBs and a Beta Badge. The Beta Badge allows a user to join the Beta Club, which is free of dues and allow testers to keep in touch after Beta is over.
