Back to School Scavenge September 25th, 2006 - October 1st, 2006)

Charlie and Chelsea's Back to School Scavenge
This Event Brought to you courtsey of The Elder Council
It's back to school time for Whuddles Charlie and Chelsea, but after a long and eventful summer, they can't seem to find their school supplies! Their new teacher will likely be pretty unimpressed if they show up on the first day unprepared, so to ensure that they don't make a bad first impression, Charlie and Chelsea are asking for some help to gather up all their lost items.

Over the summer they've both been traveling near and far across WhuddleWorld so their school supplies could be anywhere! Finding them all will not be an easy task! If you choose to help out and scavenge for the lost supplies you may be the one lucky Whuddle who will receive a one-of-a-kind backpack as a gift, or perhaps one of the few others who will be rewarded with Whuddlebeans!

WhuddleWorld Citizens, let's lend a hand and start looking around on September 18th! We'll only have until Sept 24th to search because school starts the next day! Best of luck to everyone!
-----
NOTE: There will be an announcement and detailed information about the event prior to the 18th, available on both the Main Page and the ‘Blah-Blah-Blah Boards’.

Subject: Lost School Items
From: Charlie
Date: Sep 25, 2006 at 7:22 PM

Hey all,

Chelsea and I were hoping you could give us a hand.

You see, we got these lists from Whuddleville Middle School that had all the supplies we'd need for the school year on them. We set out to go shopping for these items and got a little...erm, distracted along the way.

The list got lost (and possibly a little torn - I seem to remember something about a spit wad contest with a friend of ours ::cough::), so we'll need help finding another copy of the list, or at least somehow figure out what the items are that we'll need. I sure don't remember them anymore. I'm pretty sure there were ten items we needed total...but that's about all I remember.

I'm a little nervous to talk with him, cause he'll prolly lecture us about losing our list and stuff in the first place, but Reggie over at the library might be a good person to ask. He seems to know something about everything going on around WhuddleWorld, and I'm sure he knows something about the school supplies.

Anyway, Chelsea and I really hope you can help us out! We'll be in a lot of hot water if we show up on our first day of school emptied handed. Good luck and thanks a bunch!

Charlie (and Chelsea)

OOC NOTE: You'll be able to see your progress by visiting 'Page 5' of your Whuddle ID card in your Omnibus.

The quest started by talking with Reginald at the Whuddleville Library. He would give you a scrambled word and ask you which school item it was. After you solved the anagram you would be given 3 places where to look. The item was invisible, so you could either click randomly around or look at where the cursor turned into a hand.
After you found the item and clicked on it, a popup would came out. You had to talk with Reginald again, who would give you the name of another NPC, who in turn would have you go looking for another item. There were 10 items to look for, in total.

The quest was timed, and you could see how long it had taken you to find each item by looking in your omnibus. There was a score board on the BBB Boards which kept note of the fastest 100 people to complete the quest.

Rewards:
(2,000 WBs)
You've earned the Student Scavenger Award!
You've gained some Citizenship!

The fastest 100 people to complete the Quest should have received rewards for their speed, but the Elders thought some users cheated because they completed it too fast. Instead, they gave rewards randomly. 200 people received a Ruled Notebook Paper and 10 received a Backpack of Holding. However, due to users complaining about not getting their prize, after a couple of days the Elders did give out 100 packages of paper and 5 backpacks to the fastest users. This means that you could get more than 1 prize.
